Man Sentenced to 8 Years for Drugging and Sexually Assaulting Woman After Argument with Husband

A married man, identified by the surname Zhang, has been sentenced to 8 years in prison for drugging and sexually assaulting a woman. The incident occurred after the woman, who was also married, had an argument with her husband and left home, staying in a rented suite. Zhang, upon learning of her situation, brought alcohol to her location. He initially joined the woman and another friend for drinks. After the friend departed, Zhang returned to the suite under the pretense of retrieving a bag. During their conversation, Zhang illicitly added FM2, a sedative, to the woman's drink. She subsequently lost consciousness and was sexually assaulted by Zhang. Upon waking and realizing she was not wearing underwear, the woman suspected she had been attacked and reported the incident to the police. An appellate court upheld the initial ruling, sentencing Zhang to 8 years.

Investigations by prosecutors and police revealed that on September 28, 2023, the married Zhang learned that another married woman had argued with her husband that day and was staying in a rented suite. Zhang initially claimed he was visiting with his child, but in reality, he brought alcohol with him. Upon arriving, Zhang found the woman and another friend present.
