A serious traffic accident occurred on Henggong Road in Hengchun Township, Pingtung County, Taiwan, on the afternoon of the 6th. A man driving a Tesla, accompanied by his wife and two children, was involved in a multi-vehicle collision.

The incident reportedly began when the Tesla, for reasons yet to be fully determined but suspected to be due to braking failure, rear-ended a concrete mixer truck that was stopped at a red light. Following the initial impact, the Tesla veered into the motorcycle lane, striking a motorcycle. The vehicle then continued its trajectory, ultimately crashing into the corner of a roadside residential building before coming to a halt.

The force of the collision was significant. The driver of the Tesla lost vital signs at the scene. His wife and two children, who were passengers in the vehicle, sustained injuries. Additionally, the rider of the motorcycle, a passenger on the motorcycle, and two children riding on the back of the motorcycle also suffered injuries.

In total, eight individuals – four adults and four children – were transported to the hospital for urgent medical attention. The Tesla driver, estimated to be in his 30s, was initially trapped inside his vehicle. Despite immediate rescue efforts and transport to the hospital, he was later pronounced deceased due to the severity of his injuries.
