A disturbing double fatality has been reported in the Xinyi District of Taipei. On the 25th, a 37-year-old man, identified by the surname Chen, and a 25-year-old woman, identified by the surname Zeng, were discovered deceased in the living room of an apartment on Yongji Road. The pair were found in a reclined, intertwined posture, leaning against a sofa, and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial reports indicate that Mr. Chen possessed a notable background. He was reportedly the representative of a venture capital firm with a registered capital of NT$900 million. His father was also a former chairman of a well-known Taiwanese business and currently serves as the CEO of a holding company.

The discovery was made when Mr. Chen's father, unable to reach his son, visited his residence on Yongji Road. Upon entering the apartment, he was met with the tragic sight of his son and the young woman, both unresponsive and showing signs of deceased. He immediately contacted the authorities.

Police preliminary investigations at the scene revealed no signs of struggle or external force. Mr. Chen was found seated on cushions placed on the floor, leaning against the sofa. Ms. Zeng was positioned beside him, resting on his right arm, with the two in a close embrace.

During the examination of the living room, authorities discovered a white powder and half a pill on a table. These substances are being sent to the forensic center for further analysis to determine their nature, including whether they are illicit substances.

Further details about Mr. Chen's background highlight his significant professional standing. The venture capital firm he represented, based in Taipei's Zhongshan District, had a substantial capital of NT$900 million. He had even been interviewed by foreign media in 2021, discussing the company's founding journey, operational strategies, and philosophy.

Mr. Chen's father also has a distinguished business history. He previously chaired a prominent Taiwanese enterprise that specialized in cosmetic packaging materials, serving major global cosmetic brands. He currently holds the position of CEO at a holding company.
