A significant fire broke out at a recycling facility in Tanzi District, Taiwan, around noon today. The incident generated a vast plume of smoke that spread across the area, causing alarm among local residents.

Emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene. Firefighters from eight units responded to the blaze, which was located on Yatan Road Section 2. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.

The fire has since been brought under control and extinguished. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the fire department.

In response to the smoke, the Environmental Protection Bureau issued a warning to residents in the vicinity. Due to the prevailing northeasterly winds, areas downwind of the fire, including sections of Yatan Road, Dafeng Road, Yafeng Street, and nearby alleys, may experience odors. The bureau advised residents in these affected areas to close their windows and doors.

The Environmental Protection Bureau stated that they will continue to monitor air quality and analyze data from nearby monitoring stations and air quality sensors. They assured the public that there is no need for panic.

The fire department reported that a total of 18 vehicles and 45 personnel were deployed to combat the fire. The incident involved burning waste materials in an open area, which produced a large amount of black smoke. The fire was brought under control at 12:49 PM and fully extinguished by 12:56 PM, with no casualties.
