AirAsia Celebrates 16 Years of Aviation Excellence with Exclusive Krabi Experience

AirAsia is marking an impressive milestone: its 16th consecutive recognition as the World's Best Low-Cost Airline. To commemorate this achievement, the airline orchestrated a special promotional trip to Krabi, Thailand, inviting over 120 prominent influencers and media representatives from across Asia. This initiative, undertaken in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), aims to spotlight the appeal of Green Season travel and position Krabi as a premier travel destination.

A significant highlight of the event was the unveiling of AirAsia's specially designed "Still Winning, Still Gold" aircraft livery. This commemorative plane, celebrating the airline's sustained excellence, was welcomed with an official ceremony upon its arrival at Krabi International Airport on June 19. Suvit Suriyawong, Vice Governor of Krabi, extended a warm welcome to the international guests, emphasizing Krabi's unique attractions. "Krabi is honored to welcome guests from across Asia and beyond," he stated. "With breathtaking landscapes, eco-friendly experiences, and the warmth of our people, we invite everyone to enjoy Krabi—not just once, but all year round. I’m confident you’ll return home with meaningful memories and inspire others to visit."

The itinerary, spanning June 19 to 21, offered participants an in-depth look at Krabi's diverse tourism offerings. Guests enjoyed a welcome dinner at The Beach Krabi, featuring cultural performances, demonstrations of eco-print textiles, traditional Thai wellness services, and an introduction to TAT Connex, a digital platform designed to connect key opinion leaders with Thai tourism content for global promotion.

Parichart Boonclai, Executive Director of Marketing Services at TAT, emphasized Krabi's dedication to sustainable tourism. "Thailand is a year-round destination, and the Green Season is perfect for discovering natural beauty and local culture," she explained. "Krabi exemplifies our commitment to sustainable tourism through the 'Krabi Prototype,' which supports low-carbon travel, eco-conscious businesses, and community-led experiences like mangrove tours in Ban Thung Yee Peng and marine activities around Ko Ngai."

Krabi has cemented its status as a global tourism icon, attracting over 6.3 million visitors in 2023. Renowned locations such as Maya Bay, Phi Phi Islands, and Railay Beach consistently rank among the world's top destinations, with Maya Bay recently being recognized as the world's most mable beach. The province continues to lead in environmental conservation and sustainable tourism, guided by the "Krabi Goes Green" strategy, supported by both public and private sectors, according to Travel Daily News.

This celebration also underscores AirAsia's significant operational success, having transported over a billion passengers since its inception in 2001. Santisuk Klongchaiya, CEO of Thai AirAsia, attributed the airline's recognition to its unwavering commitment to service quality and customer trust. As part of the festivities, AirAsia is currently offering a limited-time promotion with discounts on select routes, baggage, and seat selection, valid until July 3.
