Taichung MRT Celebrates 50 Million Rides with Starlux Airlines Giveaway

In Taichung, Taiwan, the Taichung Mass Rapid Transit Corp. (TMRTC) celebrated a significant achievement on Monday, marking 50 million cumulative rides on its metro system.

To commemorate this milestone, TMRTC announced a special prize giveaway in collaboration with Starlux Airlines, a full-service carrier based in Taipei.

The passenger who completed the 50 millionth journey, recorded at 2:45 p.m. on Monday, entering at Jiushe Station and exiting at Taichung City Hall Station with an iPASS card (card number 35000104351), will receive a pair of Starlux business class round-trip tickets from Taichung to any Asian destination.

In addition, the passengers of the 49,999,999th and 50,000,001st rides were also recognized. The 49,999,999th rider, entering at Jiude Station with an EasyCard (card number 8300675201667374), and the 50,000,001st rider, entering at Daqing Station with an EasyCard (card number 8430997668), each won a Starlux economy class round-trip ticket to an Asian destination.

TMRTC extended congratulations to the three passengers and urged them to claim their prizes.

This event marks the first "land and air" campaign between TMRTC and Starlux Airlines, aiming to boost transportation development in Taichung. TMRTC expressed its gratitude to the public for their support in reaching this significant ridership milestone.

TMRTC also affirmed its commitment to enhancing service quality, operational efficiency, and providing a safe and dependable riding experience. The Taichung MRT officially commenced passenger service in April 2021.
