Singapore Shines as Asia's Safest Travel Destination, Surpassing Japan

A recent travel safety index compiled by the Canadian insurance website Hellosafe highlights the safest and most dangerous travel destinations for 2025. The study, which considers various factors including social violence, natural disasters, armed conflict, public health infrastructure, and militarization, reveals some interesting insights for travelers.

The index, which employs 35 indicators across five categories, scores countries on a scale from 0 to 100, with 0 representing the safest and 100 the most dangerous. According to the findings, the Philippines is deemed the most dangerous travel destination. In contrast, Iceland is recognized as the safest overall. Singapore secured the second position, making it the only Asian country to rank within the top 10 safest destinations, outperforming countries such as Japan.

It's important to note that the report labels Taiwan as lacking sufficient data for inclusion in the assessment.
