Rainy Start to the Week in Taiwan: Thunderstorms and the Approaching Plum Rain Season

Get ready for some rain! Despite the warm temperatures, it's time to keep your umbrellas handy. According to Wu Der-rong, an adjunct associate professor at the Department of Atmospheric Sciences, National Central University, Taiwan is currently under the influence of a warm air mass, resulting in generally fair weather conditions with periods of cloudiness.

Temperatures are expected to climb, feeling "like summer." However, increased moisture and instability in the south will bring a chance of localized showers and thunderstorms, particularly in the central and southern regions. These showers are expected to intensify in the afternoon and extend to mountainous areas in the north.

Today's temperatures across Taiwan are projected to be: 23 to 36 degrees Celsius in the north, 24 to 36 degrees Celsius in the central region, 25 to 36 degrees Celsius in the south, and 22 to 37 degrees Celsius in the east.
