Taipei Tourism Exposition: A Journey Through Land, Sea, and Air

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – The Taipei Tourism Exposition, a major event showcasing the best in travel, will be held at the Taipei World Trade Center from Friday through Monday.

This year’s exposition, themed "Land, Sea, and Air: A New Experience," reflects the current global trend towards more open and diverse travel possibilities. Organizers are anticipating an impressive turnout of approximately 300,000 visitors.

The 2024 event will feature a significant increase in participation, with 350 exhibitors confirmed, a remarkable 40% rise compared to the previous year. The diverse range of participants includes tourism organizations from 10 countries, Taiwan's four major airlines, leading travel agencies, and luxury hotels.

Highlighting the international flavor, a Korean tourism-themed exhibition will be a major draw, with the South Korean actor So Ji-sub expected to make an appearance. The Japan Tourism Agency has designed its booth to replicate a train station, providing a nostalgic ambiance, and will also feature traditional Japanese magic shows and Edo Daikagura performances.

Lo Hsuan-hung (駱炫宏), chair of the Taipei Association of Travel Agents, noted that the number of travelers in Taiwan has been steadily increasing since last year, with outbound tourism returning to pre-pandemic levels, and inbound tourism also seeing a boost as a result.

Ever Fun Travel Services Corp. Deputy General Manager Tsai Chin-hui (蔡錦惠) confirmed that the company will showcase attractive offers on autumn foliage and aurora tour packages. China Airlines will host a flight ticket raffle, while Tigerair Taiwan and Eva Air will provide discounted airfare deals.

Tigerair Taiwan also announced that it will host a “Taiwan Day” event on June 17 at the home stadium of Japan’s Hanshin Tigers baseball team. The first pitch will be thrown by Tigerair Taiwan Chair Huang Shih-hui (黃世惠) and former Hanshin Tigers player Hsiao Yi-jie (蕭一傑).

South East Travel Service Co. will be presenting special deals on European tour packages at the event. EZ Travel Service Co. is promoting a buy-one-get-one-free offer on group tours to Japan, along with a lucky draw. Hung-Ta Travel and Tours Co. will offer an exclusive nine-day Australia tour package priced at NT$82,800 (US$2,750).
