A tragic incident occurred in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, early on the morning of December 21st. According to police reports, a 55-year-old man, identified as Mr. Li, was struck and killed by a sport utility vehicle (SUV) on a zebra crossing.

The incident unfolded shortly after Mr. Li and his brother were brought to the Chenggong Road Police Station of the Lingya Branch for questioning following a verbal altercation. After completing his statement, Mr. Li left the station. Surveillance footage captured Mr. Li walking to the zebra crossing. He then laid down in a supine position across the pedestrian crosswalk.

The traffic signal changed to green. After approximately 60 seconds, an SUV proceeded through the intersection and struck Mr. Li. The driver, Mr. Wu, was found not to be under the influence of alcohol. However, he was taken into custody and processed for charges relating to involuntary manslaughter, pending further investigation to clarify the cause of the accident and assign responsibility.
