Penghu's Fireworks Festival Unveils, Drone Show Disappoints, Future Performances Canceled

The 2025 Penghu International Fireworks Festival kicked off on the 5th, drawing a crowd of 14,000 visitors. However, the initial drone show performance received negative feedback due to its image quality. Several light points appeared dim, and outlines were blurred, failing to meet expectations.

In response, the Penghu County Government announced today that, for the sake of the event's professional standards and performance quality, the subsequent drone show performances would be canceled. The focus will instead shift to increasing the number of fireworks displays to enhance the overall brand atmosphere and create more highlights for the Fireworks Festival.

According to the County Government's Tourism Department, the drone show services for this year's Fireworks Festival were outsourced through a public bidding process conducted in accordance with the Government Procurement Act. Currently, only two legal manufacturers in Taiwan meet the procurement specifications for swarm flight performances. One of these manufacturers participated in the bidding and was selected as the winning bidder. Notably, a company that had previously participated in the Fireworks Festival's drone shows did not submit a bid this year.
