Taiwan Under the Microscope: China's Military Exercises Intensify

On April 1st, the Eastern Theater Command of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) announced the commencement of military exercises around Taiwan. According to PLA spokesperson Shi Yi, the drills involve forces from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Rocket Force.

The exercises focus on multiple areas, including maritime and aerial patrols, the seizure of air and sea dominance, strikes against sea and land targets, and the control of key strategic areas. The PLA aims to assess its forces' joint operational capabilities through these exercises.

Shi Yi stated that the exercises serve as a "serious warning" and a "powerful deterrent" against Taiwan independence separatist forces, as well as a justified action to safeguard national sovereignty and maintain national unity.
