Night Raid in Taoyuan: Police Crack Down on Entertainment Venues in Zhongli

In a late-night operation, the Zhongli Precinct of the Taoyuan Police Department deployed over 80 officers to conduct a comprehensive sweep of entertainment venues in the Zhongli district. The operation targeted 19 special business establishments, including hotels, karaoke bars, and electronic game centers, with the aim of enhancing public safety and deterring illegal activities.

The police action, which involved both expanded inspections and road checkpoints, resulted in the apprehension of 3 individuals wanted on charges including weapon offenses, fraud, and theft with money laundering. While the raid didn't uncover major criminal organizations or large-scale illegal operations, law enforcement officers reported that the visible presence and rigorous checks served as a strong deterrent to potential wrongdoers, contributing to the maintenance of order in the community.

Led by Precinct Chief Lin Ting-tai, the operation brought together officers from the Criminal Investigation Division, Special Police Battalion, and Traffic Division. A total of six road checkpoints were set up on major thoroughfares and connecting roads, along with 22 patrol units, aiming to suppress gang-related activities and other disruptive behaviors.
