New Advanced F-16 Jets: Taiwan to Attend Rollout Ceremony

A delegation of high-ranking officials from the nation is preparing to attend the rollout ceremony for the first of its 66 F-16 Block 70 fighter jets, which are nearing completion at the Lockheed Martin production facility in the United States.

Details regarding the attendee list have been provided by the US, although further specifics are unavailable.

The Air Force will dispatch its deputy chief of staff to accompany the deputy minister of national defense for this significant event, which is expected to take place shortly.

With the arrival of the F-16 Block 70, the air force will operate two variants of the F-16 jets, with the F-16 Block 20 being upgraded. New equipment has improved the air force’s ability to deter potential aerial threats.

Recent training exercises involving F-16V jets have been conducted, simulating attack runs against potential adversaries' radar installations using advanced anti-radiation missiles.

Furthermore, consideration is being given to the purchase of electronic warfare pods to enhance the capabilities of the F-16V fleet, with funding planned for the fiscal year 2026 budget.

In related news, the military is scheduled to commence a five-day combat-readiness exercise involving all branches of service. The exercise will simulate realistic combat scenarios, enhancing preparedness for potential threats.

The military is closely monitoring potential adversarial actions to assess threat levels and will conduct its own combat-readiness drills to prepare for any escalation. The computer-assisted simulation and live exercise sections of the Han Kuang drills have been extended.

The upcoming exercise aims to simulate real combat situations and test troops’ response to unexpected incidents. The goal is to ensure troops would be able to mobilize for warfare immediately.
