Taipei, Taiwan – South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun, celebrated for his role in the hit TV series "My Love from the Star," has canceled his planned visit to Kaohsiung, a city in southern Taiwan. The announcement has ignited a wave of interest and speculation regarding the reason behind the cancellation.

The decision, revealed on Tuesday by President Chain Store Corp., the organizer of the three-day Sakura Festival, cited a "change in his schedule" as the official reason. The event is still scheduled to proceed, excluding Kim Soo-hyun's appearance at the end of the night, according to announcements made on 7-Eleven Facebook pages, managed by President Chain Store Corp.

Those who purchased tickets for the day of the planned appearance can request a full refund, starting next Monday. The controversy is linked to the death of his ex-girlfriend, South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron.

The cancellation comes amidst rising scrutiny surrounding the death of Kim Sae-ron, a former child star, who tragically ended her life on February 16th—the same day as Kim Soo-hyun's birthday.

According to reports originating from South Korea, Kim Sae-ron's parents have made allegations that Kim Soo-hyun was involved in a six-year relationship with their daughter. They provided photos and letters to support their claims.

Kim Sae-ron later signed with Gold Medalist, an agency that also represents Kim Soo-hyun.

The actress's parents have alleged that the agency mishandled their daughter's affairs following a drunk driving incident in 2022, claiming that the company sought compensation from her.

A close friend of Kim Sae-ron's mother was cited as saying that Kim Soo-hyun worked with the agency to demand repayment from the actress.

Furthermore, her parents suggested that the financial strain placed on Kim Sae-ron may have contributed to her death.

Following these claims, Kim Soo-hyun's Instagram account saw a substantial drop in followers.
