An Update on the Political Figure's Health, and Concerns Raised About Detention
Breaking: Ko Wen-je's Hematuria Sparks Concern, Huang Kuo-chang Reacts

Former Taiwan People's Party (TPP) Chairman Ko Wen-je's recent detention on charges related to the Taipei Dome and political donations has taken a concerning turn. Ko's legal team has reported that he is experiencing hematuria (blood in the urine).

Legislator Huang Kuo-chang, who also serves as the TPP's chairman, expressed his surprise and worry upon hearing the news. He emphasized the importance of the investigative and prison authorities upholding the basic human rights and health of everyone in custody. Ko's wife, Chen Pei-chi, also stated that she will explore all available channels to help determine the cause of his condition.

Huang Kuo-chang said he was "shocked" and concerned when he heard of Ko's health issue in court. He expressed that, without any substantial evidence, Ko Wen-je has been detained for over seven months by the Lai Ching-te administration. He believes many Taiwanese citizens see the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) as using the judiciary to target political opponents, which causes anger. The TPP aims to defend Ko Wen-je's innocence through legal procedures and expects the investigative and prison authorities to safeguard everyone's human rights and health.
