Taiwan on Alert: Heavy Rainfall Warning Issued for Four Counties

Taiwan's Central Weather Administration has issued a heavy rain advisory for four counties as a strengthened northeastern monsoon is expected to bring short-duration, intense rainfall. The advisory is in effect from this evening (18th) through tomorrow (19th).

Areas under particular watch include the Keelung North Coast, Yilan County, and the mountainous regions of Greater Taipei. Residents in these locations are advised to be aware of potential thunderstorms, strong gusts of wind, and sudden rises in river levels. Mountainous areas should also be cautious of landslides and falling rocks.

Additionally, there is a possibility of localized heavier rainfall in Hualien County, Taitung County (including Green Island and Orchid Island), and the Hengchun Peninsula. The public is urged to stay informed and take necessary precautions.
