Exploring Chiayi's Diverse Attractions Beyond Alishan to Captivate the Thai Market
Chiayi City Rolls Out the Red Carpet for Thai Travel Agents to Boost Tourism

The Chiayi City Government has extended a warm invitation to ten travel agents from Thailand, aiming to significantly increase visitor numbers from the Southeast Asian nation. This initiative follows a collaborative tourism exchange meeting held in Taipei, where both Taiwan and Thailand set an ambitious goal of achieving 2 million mutual visitors.

Building on a successful promotional delegation to Thailand in 2023, Chiayi City hosted the Thai travel agents to showcase its rich array of attractions. The event provided an in-depth look at the city's unique culinary delights and points of interest, with local tourism representatives emphasizing that Chiayi offers far more than just the renowned Alishan mountain area, which is located in the neighboring Chiayi County.

The city proudly presented its vibrant food culture, the esteemed Museum of Fine Arts, the fascinating Tile Museum, the historical Prison Museum, the charming Hinoki Culture Village, and the nostalgic old trains. Additionally, the current light art festival was highlighted as a contemporary draw for visitors.

The hope is that by experiencing these diverse offerings firsthand, the invited Thai tour operators will be inspired to enthusiastically promote Chiayi's unique appeal to travelers in Thailand.
