Typhoon Mademe Expected to Form Tonight, Potential Tropical Disturbances Looming Around National Day Holiday

Tropical Depression TD24 is forecast to intensify into Typhoon Mademe as early as tonight. According to a forecaster from the Central Weather Administration, Taiwan can expect localized brief showers in Hualien, Taitung, and Pingtung on Friday and Saturday due to the outer cloud bands of Typhoon Mademe. The weather is predicted to stabilize across the island during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday. However, there is a possibility of tropical disturbances developing east of the Philippines around the National Day holiday, though their strength and trajectory require further observation.

The forecaster further explained that TD24 is expected to become Typhoon Mademe between tonight and tomorrow. The typhoon is projected to move northwest-west towards the Philippines and the South China Sea, passing through Luzon on Friday and entering the South China Sea on Saturday. By the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the typhoon is anticipated to have moved away. Nevertheless, there are indications of tropical disturbances forming east of the Philippines around the National Day holiday. Due to significant discrepancies in various forecast models, the intensity and path of these potential disturbances remain uncertain and will need continued monitoring.
