Kaohsiung's New Waterfront Oasis: 8,000 Ping Water Park Set to Reopen with Thrilling Slides

A beloved aquatic playground returns to Kaohsiung, promising summer fun for all with exciting new features.

Construction is nearing completion on a significant transformation of the Starry Waterfront Park in Kaohsiung's Asia Bay Area. This expansive 8,000 ping (approximately 26,400 square meters) water park is set to become a major attraction, featuring a large water slide, splash pools, and water swings. This development marks the return of a large-scale water entertainment facility to Kaohsiung, following the closure of the former "Blue Lagoon" (布魯樂谷).

The city government has announced that construction progress has reached 92%. One of the three large water slides has already had its main structure installed. The park is anticipated to be completed and open to the public in October, with a full launch expected for the summer of next year. It is poised to become a prime destination for Kaohsiung residents seeking to cool off and enjoy themselves during the summer months.

The previous water play area at Xingguang Park was a popular spot for residents. In response to this, the city government initiated the "Asia Bay Coastal Landscape Green Belt Connection and Reconstruction Project." This project aims to expand the water play area to approximately 2.94 hectares, incorporating new water slides, water swings, and various other aquatic facilities. The Parks Department confirmed that they are closely monitoring the construction progress to ensure the October completion date, providing citizens with a vibrant space for water-based recreation and summer enjoyment.
