Severe Thunderstorm Alert Issued for Six Southern Taiwan Counties and Cities

The Central Weather Administration issued an immediate severe thunderstorm warning this afternoon at 3:02 PM, affecting Chiayi County, Changhua County, Chiayi City, Nantou County, Yunlin County, and Tainan City. The alert is expected to remain in effect until 5:00 PM.

The Administration is urging the public to be vigilant against heavy rainfall, lightning strikes, and hail. Residents are also advised to watch for sudden rises in river levels and to exercise caution in low-lying areas susceptible to flooding. Reduced visibility is also a concern during this period.
