Explosion Rocks Taiwan's Xingda Power Plant: Emergency Response Underway

A significant explosion occurred at the Xingda Thermal Power Plant in Yong'an District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, around 8:05 PM today. Witnesses reported large flames erupting from the facility. The Kaohsiung City Fire Bureau has dispatched twelve fire brigades to the scene to manage the emergency. Units from various stations, including Gangshan, Qiaotou, Mituo, Yong'an, Luzhu, Alian, Hunei, and Jieding, are actively involved in the rescue efforts. The number of casualties, if any, is currently unknown.

Further reports indicate that Taiwan Power Company (台電) has stated the incident involved a natural gas leak that ignited. The company has confirmed that all personnel are safe.
