Taiwan High Speed Rail Ends Flexible Boarding for Reserved Seats

Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) is set to implement a significant change to its boarding policy, discontinuing the flexible boarding option for passengers with reserved seats. This move, confirmed by THSR, is intended to address growing passenger numbers and associated boarding issues, and to align with upcoming service changes, including the introduction of designated "non-reserved seat" cars during peak hours, expected to launch next year.

Previously, passengers holding reserved seat tickets could board earlier trains by utilizing the non-reserved seating sections. However, this flexibility will be phased out. THSR has notified all stations about the cancellation of this policy. While public announcements and information dissemination will commence from August 11th and continue until November 9th, the new regulations will officially take effect on November 10th.
