Taiwan High Speed Rail Adjusts Schedule Due to Approaching Typhoon

All-Stop, Non-Reserved Service Implemented for Monday Travel

In anticipation of Typhoon Danas's arrival, Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation (THSRC) has announced significant adjustments to its service schedule for Monday. To ensure passenger safety and manage potential disruptions, all previously scheduled trains have been canceled and replaced with a simplified service model.

Starting Monday, THSRC will operate exclusively all-stop trains with non-reserved seating, with the exception of business class cars. This change affects all services across the high-speed rail network.

Trains will depart from Nangang Station in Taipei (southbound) and Zuoying Station in Kaohsiung (northbound) three times every hour. Departures from both terminal stations are scheduled for the top of the hour, as well as 20 and 40 minutes past the hour.

To accommodate passengers in Taichung, THSRC will add two extra all-stop trains with non-reserved seating. These additional services will include one southbound and one northbound train each, departing at 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., respectively.

The last trains on Monday are scheduled to depart Nangang Station at 9:40 p.m. heading to Zuoying, and at 10:40 p.m. heading to Taichung. From Zuoying Station, the final departures will be at 9:40 p.m. for Nangang and 10:40 p.m. for Taichung.

Passengers who need to cancel their travel plans due to the typhoon can receive a full refund without any service charges. For those who still intend to travel but whose original trains were affected by the schedule changes, their existing tickets will be valid for boarding any available non-reserved seating train operating on Monday.

Taiwan Railway Corporation has also announced modifications to its schedule for Monday. Reserved seat trains operating along Taiwan's west coast on the Western Main Line and its three branch lines will be suspended until noon on Monday. All other Taiwan Railway services are expected to operate as normal.
