Taiwanese Taxi Driver's Vehicle Vandalized Amidst Debt Negotiation Dispute

A taxi driver from Tainan experienced a distressing incident on July 9th when the vehicle he was driving was violently vandalized. The driver had been hired to transport two passengers, identified as Mr. Kang (21) and Mr. Chen (19), from Tainan to Taichung. Unbeknownst to the driver, the passengers were heading to Taichung for a debt negotiation involving a sum of 3.15 million TWD.

Upon arrival at the designated meeting point, a repair shop in Nantun District, Taichung, the taxi was intentionally blocked by another vehicle. Before Mr. Kang and Mr. Chen could exit the taxi, a group of five individuals, led by a Mr. Su, emerged and began to assault the taxi with clubs and other blunt objects. The driver, understandably alarmed by the sudden violence, quickly drove away from the scene with his passengers and proceeded to report the incident to the authorities.

The taxi sustained significant damage. The front of the vehicle was severely impacted, with multiple parts broken, the bumper dislodged, the hood dented, and the windshield shattered with a large hole.
